TAKE NOTICE:

The membership of Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation (formerly Ochiichagwe'Babigo'Ining) seek to direct the allocation and management of anticipated settlement funds by a referendum vote to take place under Band Custom at the Community Centre, Saturday, April 27th, 2019. 

The referendum questions are:

  • I vote for the John Henry proposal referred to as “Breakdown of Compensation within Our Community” A full list of the Impact Survivors Group will be reviewed, approved and voted on at a General Band Meeting under Band Custom prior to disbursements.

OR

  • I vote for the “Economic Development Committee, Chief and Council and Barry Henry
    Combined Band Custom”. A full list of the Impact Survivors Group, the Economic Development Business Plan, and the Feasibility/Business Plan for the Cannabis business need to be completed and approved together or separately under Band Custom prior to disbursements.

A series of information sessions for Band members are scheduled to be held at various cities and venues and are advertised on the website page https://www.niisaachewan.ca and on Facebook.  Band members requiring further information should consult the webpage and contact the Niisaachewan government offices at 807-548-5876 or Toll Free: (888) 767-4960
